This research aimed to explore and measure the impact of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of things on smart city development. The objectives of the study were; to identify the factors for integrating AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things) into Smart Cities, to identify the indicators of smart cities and lastly to examine the impact of AI and IoT on Smart Cities. Extensive literature review was done to identify fifteen (15) factors for integrating AI and IoT into Smart Cities and eight (8) indicators of smart cities. This study made use of the deductive research approach. The study also adopted the purposive and snowball technique. The questionnaire survey design was adopted. The survey questionnaire targeted stakeholders with understanding of in the smart cities concept. One hundred and two 102 responses were retrieved out of the questionnaires that were administered. After analysis, it was established that, all the variables proved to be significant factors affecting the integration of AI and IoT on smart cities. This study recommends that governments and city authorities should establish comprehensive policies that promote the adoption of AI and IoT technologies in urban planning and management. It is also crucial to invest in education and training programs that equip city officials, engineers, and developers with the necessary skills to implement and manage AI and IoT technologies effectively
